ArtWorks Spokane is pleased to welcome Steffen Plistermann from Artisan Finishes in Seattle, the leading installer and sole distributor of Milestone Hybridized Cement, for this two day workshop.

Class Fee: $600.00

This class covers the essentials for the aspiring Milestone installer. Learn, hands-on, how to apply two different texture finishes on interior walls over primed or painted drywall and on interior floors over existing concrete. A theoretical introduction into counter tops and showers is also part of the workshop. Choose from Milestone's color palette of 48 neutral colors as you create at least 4 (four) 2' x 2' samples, the beginning of your own sample library. Throughout the workshop there will be an emphasis on starting and having your own installation business.

During Friday evening's orientation, you will get a chance to introduce yourself and your reasons for attending the workshop. You will learn about the history of Milestone and Artisan Products, tour our facility and attend a presentation designed to promote Milestone with designers and architects. You will also get a chance to ask questions about specific projects that you're planning to do.

Saturday starts with a demonstration and practice of Milestone specific trowel movements and the use of a hawk. Following that, we will cover substrate preparation, mixing and coloring of Milestone followed by the application of base coats to at least 4 horizontal samples and a 4' x 7' vertical wall segment, including the treatment of corner details. The final part of Saturday will be the application of the top coat on your 2” x 2” samples. Each segment includes a demonstration, hands-on practice and Q&A. 

Sunday starts with the application of the top coat on the wall sections. Following that, we will focus on the application of sealers. We will cover sealers for interior walls, floors , counter tops and showers. Again, each segment includes a demonstration, hands-on practice and Q&A.
