
Apprenticeship Training 2011
Artworks Spokane offers a comprehensive Apprenticeship Training Program to help you start your career as a Decorative Artisan. This 50 hour course will help you learn the most current decorative painting and plaster techniques in addition to learning the steps necessary to get your business up and running.

Class Fee: $3000.00
This program is geared for the student who wants to start their own business. At the conclusion of this training, this person has the option to work on Artworks Spokane's job sites to gain valuable experience in job planning and on-the-wall applications. Class is limited to four students.
Course Objectives:

Complete business workbook…set up a marketing plan, get your business licenses, advertising, pricing, etc.

Learn surface preparation for walls, wood, cabinets, floors, concrete, plastic, glass and tile, etc.

Faux Finishes….basics, learn the differences between glazes.

Basic marble and wood graining finishes.

Color theory, color mixing and matching.

Plaster finishes…learn the difference between synthetic and lime based plasters.

Traditional Venetian plaster, decorative plasters, Marmorino, Distressed Old World Finishes

Introduction to Decorative Concrete Overlays

Student’s will be required to learn the basic finishes, then choose applications they want to learn.

Job planning to include estimating, site organization, and safety.
10 weeks: Mondays, March 26 - June 4, 2012 Noon-5pm
A $500.00 deposit will hold your space, with the balance due two weeks prior to the first day of class at which time pre-study materials will be emailed to you.
Artworks Spokane reserves the right to cancel the workshop if we have fewer than 3 participants.
